For music this term we have a performance piece on a war and peace concert in a few weeks. We also have an analyzing repertoire task on another war song of our choice. For the performance, I was planning to play One by Metallica or Down from the Sky by Trivium (that one may be a problem though since I'm the only one in my class with a seven string guitar; it'd be difficult for another guitar to accompany). As for the analyzing repertoire, I don't really know what to do. Anyone know any good rock/metal songs about war? If possible, I'd like it to have a lot of musical components or whatever, since I have to write a 1000 word essay on it :/ Thanks.

Those are the two I was going to mention.. but umm there is also M.I.A by Avenged Sevenfold (This band actually has a very songs about war, seems to be a topic they like to sing about.) BYOB By System of a Down (Again another band who have a few songs based around war, though more the 'political' side) I do know of others, but I have had a mental blank now >.> I'll update when I can think of more.

We may fail alone, but that is better than dying with them, only to be forgotten. I for one, would rather suffer now, than leave this life without passion.

Marley and Starr aren't rock, are they?

System of a down-Holy mountain The song is about some massacre inflicted by Turkey on some Armenian fugitives a century ago. It is a sweet song though. One of my favorites. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-bNqBjKrQI
