Today I learned that GameStop opened up almost all of their copies of the new Deus Ex game and removed the pamphlets that allow users to get a free copy of the game using OnLive. |

TIL that the leaves and stones of pin cherries are poisonous, and the stones are probably what made my chicken sick because she probably swallowed the pin cherries whole. I guess we're going to have to put up some kind of fence around our pin cherry tree, or watch them like a hawk when we let them out.

TIL I know jack squat about French. Couldn't make heads or tails of the multiple choice and can barely get past the translation component, let alone a 50 word essay. Even if it's been five years since I last took it. Edit: Herp. Done the test for a half hour and notice it said do not guess at the top. There goes my test. But I am so getting into Introductory French  |

TIL that I need to check the forums more carefully  Sorry for the late response; I can has visiting in-laws. (Is cool, they are cool peeps) Yes, I owned an AR-15 for a while. I eventually sold it to a friend of mind because I had no monies. One of these days I intend to buy another, but shooting is a relatively expensive hobby and I can't really justify the purchase yet. As a first gun, it'll probably be relatively expensive. But, the recoil is practically nil if you use it properly, and depending on the mods it can be very comfortable to use and fire. I picked one up purely because it's similar to what I carried in the Army- no special reason other than that. See if you can visit a range that has rentals, or pester gun-owning friends to try theirs out, and you can probably get a feel for what you're looking for. |

No worries on being late. Up here we get some inexpensive Chinese guns, one of which is an M4 AR-15 clone that can accept all milspec parts, and is about $699. I've heard they're good, and I figure I can get a .22 conversion bolt for it so I can shoot something a bit cheaper. There's also a site here that sells lots of bulk ammo. I've found a couple sites that have a focus on selling AR-15s and parts for them in Canada, unfortunately a lot of the western manufactured AR-15s are super expensive.
TIL Skype will be the death of me. I kept procrastinating going to bed so I could talk to some friends.

It was funny the first couple times, but then it got boring. And most of the people on this boat had never heard it before and just looked at me weird. TIL some pop culture doesn't leave North America (perhaps it's better that way...) |
