There was recently an update for Portal on steam, which adds stuff like morse code messages in the radios, odd images, and a new achievement! I know there's some crazy code cracking stuff going down, and maybe this will lead to the announcement of Portal 2, or maybe something related to Half Life 2: Episode 3, given that Aperture plays a part in Half Life. So what do you guys think?

Yeah, I heard about this at Destructoid. I wonder if it's a sort of ARG type thing. If so, fuck yes. I shall watch from the side-lines, sadly staring at the place on my desk where Portal should be.

Maybe they'll also have a mysterious L4D update! You know, add all those guns and such...
...actually, I am not one of THOSE guys. You know, the one's who joined the L4D2 Boycott? I had my fun and L4D2 rocks so much ass. Still looking for the cake the Boomer keeps promising...

They are making an update for both L4D, and L4D2 that includes new weapons and such, along with a new campaign for each.

Cool, I know they talked about L4D2 dlc called "The Passing" where npc main characters meet up with the new characters.
It was a weird day for gaming, first the ps3 meltdowns, and then this from valve, and then the crazy situation over at Infinity Ward. Maybe Infinity Ward finally smartened up and tried to leave or something.

Yeah, in the new DLC for L4D2, the new 4 meet up with the old 4 from the first game, and then the new DLC for L4D shows how they end up where the new 4 are in L4D2.
But yeah, I can't wait until more info arises on this Portal thing.

* The patch notes released via Steam read: "changed radio transmission frequency to comply with federal and state spectrum management regulations" * The radios from Portal were carried from room-to-room, revealing weird radio interference in some places. * Gamers yanked .wav files out of game content folders and ran them through steganography/cryptography programs, revealing 26 mysterious messages in a numbered sequence. * The number strings were run through an md5 hash translator, and decoded into a telephone number near Kirkland, Washington. * It is a BBS, the ancient, pre-internet networks geeks used to use to share files, games and socialize. * The BBS login and password were obtained through a clue on one of the files. * The BBS hosts a bunch of ASCII artwork. Check it out here. * Above, you see an image created from turning one of the ASCII pictures. It's believed to be the first "screenshot" from the game. Holy crap, I love Valve for stuff like this. EDITS! Another patch; [-]March 3, 2010 - Portal Update Released

Valuable Asset Retrieval? Could that maybe be the Companion Cube?
EDIT: It's a new ending! That's cool.
