Shit, I've been a Peter Steele fan since he was the front man for Carnivore. Sadness indeed.
BTW - Totally check out the DVD edition of Nosferatu that had the soundtrack done by Peter Steele. Fucking epic...
(Nosferatu was the German silent movie that was "destroyed" due to copyright infringement of Bram Stokers Dracule (read blatant plagirism). Stokers estate supposedly had every copy destroyed but somehow copies were still floating around, it eventually got onto DVD and once it goes digital it becomes immortal. Not to mention that in the meantime Dracula passed into the public domain so the suit no holder holds sway. SOOOOOO... long story short being a silent movie it HAS no soundtrack. Most VHS versions of the film and the DVDs based on the same cuts of the movie just have generic silent movie drama music with pianos and semi-moody music. Being a fan of everything dark and doomish Peter Steele helped cut a soundtrack for Nosferatu from his own music (mostly Type -O negative stuff with a smattering of some new/unreleased guitarwork to bridge stuff together.) That of course is the cut that I own
