In your opinions, what are the best horror movies of all time. They dont have to be award winning or anything, they just have to have scared you and are still fun to watch.

I personally think horror flicks are under rated, especially nowadays. Seriously, try to imagine your childhood without horror movies in them. When I was a wee ankle bitter I used to sneak out of bed and watch scary movies with my awesome godmother (yes I actually had one) of course no matter how cheesey they where I wouldnt sleep the rest of the night but thats the price you pay I guess.

I personally remember being deeply afraid of the child's play movies. There is something about a killer doll that creeps the hell outta me, and it didn't help that my sister had a doll that looked very similar....I can still feel it watching me.

In before TLO shouts Evil Dead and starts stapling brains. *frantically searches for chainmaille beanie*

Also, if we're talking creepy killer dolls: Puppetmaster was a good flick last time I watched it....which was probably 15 years ago... >.> *wonders how horrible it is to watch as an adult*

I don't think anyone can say what is definitely the scariest horror movie because horror is a personal thing. What scares the bejezus out of one person won't have any effect on another. To be really scary, the movie has to connect with your brain in some way. I remember being scared shitless by The Exorcist. Yet most people I know think it's rubbish.

Awww...

You spoiled my fun.  But yea, ED 2 still stands as my fave.  Especially the Tin Box collectors edition DVD with all the old Laser Disc commentary on it.  I especially like to watch the movie with the commentary, then all the featurettes, THEN the movie.  It's a great way to spend a day off.

No horror movies I have seen have really scared me too much, (I blame the amount of horror games I played, games scare me much more because I feel much more like I'm there). In saying that I still love horror movies, Ive always like the first Resident Evil and 28 Days Later. I am yet to see any doll type horror movies >.>

Re-Cycle: Not technically a True Horror in the sense of a storyline... but none of the less quite creepy for the first run, and it has a very very sad ending.
(Ex Girlfriend and I were watching this oblivious to an obvious scene that can predetermine the ending for us... both of us ended up crying.)

The Eye: Before the Western Media Keeled it... The Chair Scene where this dead girl used to sit in... and she was all like "WHY ARE YOU SITTING IN ME CHAIR!" lol

I haven't seen the orginal and I refuse to watch the American one on principle.  I need to find a way to get my hands on the "real" eye.

I'd say 'the blair witch project'
It's kinda scary.
'Dog Soldiers' but then again I saw that when I was eleven years old. That wasn't a brilliant idea.
'The Descent' is really quite decent Tongue
'Witchfinder General' but that is more of a psychological thriller imao.
If what I hear is true, 'Cannibal Holocaust' is the real work. And if you really want to go and take it any further than that I believe there is some crazy shit called August Underground that really is more of a gore-porn than it is a film with an actual plot. But technically it's horror.
Never saw it though, and I'm keeping it that way.

I didn't think dog soldiers was all that bad, I can't say it scared me but I agree it is one of the better werewolf movies.

I recently saw the remake of Nightmare on elm street and I can happily say it scared me more than the original...I know blasphemy but I can't help it, is true.
