I am a huge City of Heroes fan, been playing it for years, and soon you can too, absolutely free! Well most of it anyway. CoH is going to introduce a free to play model in the coming months. I would link to the page with all the info, but the site's doing maintenance. Free Players won't have full access but there is a lot of stuff available to them and even more aspects that can be purchased in micro-transactions. Hopefully this will bring in some new blood to stir up the game, but I figured I'd let everyone know if you ever wanted to try it.

Reminds me of when Team Fortress 2 went F2P, and I couldn't play it. I'll check the site for system requirements when it's back and lament on not meeting them. Will be one of those casual players who logs on every day or two for an hour or so if it works.

I'll probably play it all day, and then forget all about it.
Unless theres like a TZH community on the game and we dress up like our own zombie huntin maraudin selves and we go out and beat people up.

TZH on City of Heroes would be pretty sweet and nothing beats violently beating people senseless with friends. It must be made now that Stan brought it up!

Here's the link to the things the free players can get. What's it like.... Not sure how to really describe 7 years of content, and they're revamping the beginning experience for the new and old players so anything I describe there won't be like that when the game goes f2p. There are random zone events where zombie attack! If you buy the mastermind power set, since it's not open to Free players, you can have a little squad of zombie pets to fight for you.

I wanted to play the game, but apparently they decided to lock Masterminds even for people who payed for the game back in 2007.
My main villain is a Mastermind.

Yeah, I think you have to be a a certain veteran tier to still have MM's free. I think they claim that since MM take more cpu to run they're reserved for paying players, and vets, but I think it's mostly to slow people down from getting to 50 alone. Since an MM is a one man army.

Yeah, but the thing is that I had the MasterMind since 2007 so it doesn't make sense to limit me when I'm already closed to maximizing him out.
Kinda pants on hand retarded to let me play with my Epic Archetypes though.
