So, I'm planning on getting a SNES soonish. Probably this one, which is a SNES/NES hybrid: I've always had a NES, but the SNES is something I never grew up with. I don't regret being a Sega kid, but I do regret not owning the SNES, which is home to a lot of my favourite games that I only managed to play on emulators later in my life. But now I'm bitch-slapping emulators in the face and getting the real thing. See, there's having a digital copy of a game...but then there's having something you can look at on your shelf and say "THAT'S MINE" whilst pounding your chest and doing an interpretive dance. I consider this the start of my retro collection, which will be a collection of most things retro-game related. It's something I wanted to do for a while, but I never managed to get around to it. So, for this first step into my retro collection, what SNES and NES games do you suggest I get? I already have some for NES (I'll have to clean those hookers off though), and know a lot of SNES titles. But I'm sure I'll see some that are unfamiliar to me, or some that I forgot about. I'd like to hear about ones that are great but not well-known, as well as the more known ones. You know you can plat NES games on the SNES right?

Yeah, they wouldn't have made a console that can play both of them if the original already could.

For some reason, my XBox 360 game CD won't fit properly into my Game Boy Advance port. Halp?

Not to mention the humor. Though, I wasn't really laughing when I realized that I had inadvertently gotten Razor tentacle-raped to death. Yes. This happened.

Just download Maniac Mansion Deluxe. It's freeware and looks tons better anyway.
I'm playing it now ^^ I'm not letting Razor near Green Tentacle anymore though...

SNES Doom Troopers - For old school M rated fun Monopoly - Awesome party game, no cheating bankers! Nobonaga's (sp?) Revenge - Old school strategy RTS in feudal Japan King of the Monsters 2 - what Godzilla games should have been
BTW, I know it's already been said, but Kirby Superstars: 8 Games in One is outstanding and Super Mario RPG is ineffable (which I thank the Nintendo gods that I still own)
NES Super Dodge Ball - the only game you'll ever need, just came out in the Wii Arcade I believe Serpents and Sorcerers - REAL old school dungeon crawling with location based damage and spells! Battletoads - soo hard Spy Hunter - gadgets, shooting, and driving Fatal Final Fight - kinda like chibi final fight but still epic
Oh gosh... nostalgia...
