I stumbled onto this a few weeks on IRC. You basically paste in something you've written and it comes up with an author who you're supposed to have a similar writing style with. I apparently write like Cory Doctorow, who i'm not exactly familiar with. Who do you write like? Linky

I don't know exactly how they calculate this, but whateva. Good for fun. I grabbed another piece of what I was working on for the same game and this appeared...
I write like Edgar Allan Poe
Then for shits, I posted the word "Fuck" over and over for three paragraphs and now...

Hey, I've had someone tell me that I write like her as well. Which isn't bad, she has a good flow and describes things well without becoming boring. It's just her storyline and characters that suck. And apparently I'm Stephen King as well.

Well if anyone's interested I put up a rather short story on here. It's entitled "Athella" so if you want, give it a read, and tell me what you think of my style.

I just tried it with three consecutive blocks of text from the same story:
Agatha Christie Margaret Atwood Stephen King
I find Agatha Christie's stories boring, I don't want to sound like her! :C
Also: "Once upon a time a little wheel of cheese wished to become a chicken farmer. Unfortunately the couch pirates stopped him. The little wheel of cheese killed itself with demented nilon stockings. Adorable children please don't marry an apricot. By a beautiful morning of the month of May, a charming Amazoness strolled, on her proud black mare, the flowery alleys of Bois-De-Boulogne. Several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooved all night. Didlidog and Alex the Comet are broken outside. Watch it: you're standing in the river. " (random phrases, quotes and graffitis)
Is like: Jonathan swift
Then I translated some lyrics from a song that's often stuck in my head. (Vladimir Ilich, by Michel Sardou) The program thought it's written like Vladimir Nabokov. I don't know that guy, but I suspect the program only picked him because of his name.
