I just really dislike the flying city. I know there's suposed to be a suspension of disbelief to video games, obviously, but an entire city being flown around on hot air balloons just crosses my own personal " too unrealistic" line. That said, I'll probably still get it. I mostly hope they do something a bit more interesting with the plasmids; either make them a bigger focus in combat or revamp the system.

The things I'm worried about: 1. Are they really Big Daddies anymore? What's going on in this? 2. What about Little Sisters? 3. Splicers? 4. While this looks badass, part of me is screaming that this won't be Bioshock at all.
The good things: 1. It's pretty.

Mmmmm American exceptionalism makes for an interesting video game concept. The things I'm worried about: 1. Are they really Big Daddies anymore? What's going on in this? 2. Well it does take place in 1910, 36 years before the founding of Rapture.

People have been guessing that you meet Andrew Ryan in Columbia and that he gets the idea for rapture from the flying city, but also because he hates it and everything the city stands for.
I will buy this. I loved Bioshock 1, I'm a huge Irrational Games fan, honestly, even if it isn't like Bioshock 1 it will still be a great game.

In that case, I guess there won't be splicers? And to that degree I guess no plasmids either? *Is confused*

Fair enough. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried inserting an M. Night Shyamalan twist where you play through the entire game and at the end it reveals the character you're playing is Andrew Ryan. You'd be able to hear bioshock fans around the nation /facepalm in unison.

There's no reason to go with Hot-air either. Gas balloons were used as early as 1783, by 1912 anyone crazy enough to create something like Columbia could have developed a massive hydrogen lifting platform. Poor choice on the designer's part.

Huh, the way they say you have to "work with Elizabeth to unravel the mystery" kind of makes it sound like it will also be a little bit of puzzle game as well, which would be freaking awesome.

The studio said that she kind of works with you, and no its not Ryan you play as, they've already named the character. This page from the developers answers some questions: http://irrationalgames.com/insider/announcement-from-ken-levine/
