Well, Minimum is $(/hour, max is $11/hour. My current pay is $7.82/hour, after my generous 7 cent raise.
The minimum wage in VA is $7.25 -____- And this was raised only about a few years ago. I had a job where I was getting paid $6.50. I hate our minimum wage laws. |

I honestly think there should be a law that says no person in any company is allowed to make more than 50 times their lowest paid employee. You wouldn't have to ever mess with minimum wage again, as CEOs would min-max what the lowest they could pay people was so they could earn the most, and you'd see people making a fuck ton more money than they do now.

Oh, I thought you meant the JOB'S wage. Minimum across the country is $7.25, I think. It's $7.25 here too, anyways. I used to have a job at my old Tae Kwon Do school, where I was paid $6/hour. This was balanced out a bit by me doing 12 hour days, and not doing much of anything half the time. It still sucked. |

If this job keeps me at the part time wages, then I can't afford my car insurance (to get TO work), my student loans, and my credit card bills. The worst part is that I've been applying for jobs since about March, I graduated in May and this was the first job to call me back. (well, second but the first to hire me. I was hoping for all the customer service I'd do, I'd at least get 8. LOL NOPE.) And it's with food. Jobs with food are the worst. Especially when you have everyone hovering over you and a visible window for the customer to see, one fuck up can cause major backlash. And I've been yelled at for someone's else's fuck up. And getting called a worthless shit with no future is AWESOME and ironic since I have my thanks for putting me in debt college degree. : D /not a happy camper at new job. |

I really wish I could actually get a job, but nobody is hiring, or nobody wants to hire me, it's a real pissoff because I'm just as qualified as a lot of these kids, at least when it comes to handling food. I apply just about everywhere in town there is to apply it, but I never get one call, but it seems my unemployed friends are getting jobs just fine.

Basically, you'll have to put out a LOT of applications, follow up on ALL of them, and be as assertive and charming as you can. If you have contacts, that helps; it's always a foot up if you know someone who knows whoever might hire you. It's tough.
ALso, I bombed that swim test. Couldn't even do six out of twelve laps. Oh well; I didn't really expect to get the job.

Also, I'm getting sick of my girlfriend's parents treating me like this. They have no right acting this way, and I want to tell them that, but it's not like I can just run off with her or anything.
I haven't felt this crappy in a long time, and I'm pretty close to just exploding on them.
