My word, i really thought it was only in movies that prom was such a massive thing. My secondary school had a prom, it was an excuse for a pissup really. other then that we didnt care.

Its importance varies from place to place.
My girlfriend wants me to go to the MCR concert in Dallas with her and her friend the weekend of the 20th. There are a few problems: I absolutely hate her friend, I don't like concerts as I'm not the dancey/screamy type, and travel terrifies me and I don't know why.

Only reason I went to my prom was because I got a free ticket for good attendance, I didn't have anything better to do that night and there were free snacks. |

My first senior year, I went to a rave instead. My second senior year, I went to prom since I actually had a girlfriend to take to it. This year I'm going with her to HER prom.
Plus it's fun as hell to wear a tux.

It's not just Dallas; I'm just intensely uncomfortable sleeping in unfamiliar places. Also, I think I'm getting tonsillitis. EDIT: False alarm. Doc says I have a sort of viral infection, along with minor bronchitis. Turns out that makes my tonsils pissed off, and apparently they turn white when they get pissed. |
