Mmm. If it weren't for people having already made a fair load of characters, I'd have said 'sod it, lets do 4th ed instead'.
If you had done that, I'd be able to recommend you a pretty decent character creator. I mean, it's no WOTC D&D 4E one, and you actually have to double check some times and fiddle with certain things, but still.

So, I've started a game of Pathfinder recently. I'm playing as a wizard, and I think I'm just unimaginative.
I'm hardly having fun, my spells are all "Shoot. Shoot some more." And the rogue isn't making it any easier, as he's essentially playing a swashbuckler and doing all kinds of things. Today he hopped across 3 tombstones, then kicked a zombie in the face. I would jump up on top of one tomb stone, and then fall off, then cast my spell. Boring. Boring boring.

Maybe wizard isn't the class for you. It seems to me you are more interested in the skills and the ability to mix things up that they provide. You might consider making a rogue or ranger, there is even a book that has advanced rules for playing those classes in new ways. I think the book is the advanced players guide but I am not sure.

I normally play rogue, but I want to play a ranger. The wizard is really fun to play most nights, maybe I was just having a bad night or something. I think the mechanic we've got set up is more than I want to deal with. About to roll up a six by six array for a monk, and I'll post it here when I'm done. The stats are being rolled up with the standard 4d6 and drop the lowest, but we roll six sets of six and set them up as a box, then we're allowed to pick any row, column, or diagonal... thing. Wish me luck! 14 15 14 14 18 15 08 16 09 13 09 12 07 12 10 13 13 12 14 14 11 14 14 14 09 16 16 14 16 13 09 18 11 12 11 07 Rolling fire, baby.

Thats actually a cool way to roll for attributes. Usually we roll 4 D6, drop the lowest of the 4 for each one, and then we can either switch two around, re-roll one, or add 1 to one of them. I might try your way Log in my next game. Yeah, I've been working on stuff for a new campaign. I'm starting them off with The Sunless Citadel. Oh fun!

If you've got the Pathfinder book, look at page 436 to fully enjoy a picture of a dire sealion showing some bitchass sailor what's up.

Speaking of Pathfinder, weeks from it's last mention here, my group might be doing one next time we meet up.
Though it took a while to get the session started, we had a battle at the start and I was unconscious for half the thing. Alive but not killing. To make up for it, I prevented my heart from exploding with demon babies, helped bring back some stolen goods and spent my gold on booze n' bitches. And then the circus came into town with more bitches! An orgy throughout the night leading to my double B money being stolen, children kidnapped and a horrid double hangover. One fun session.
It's at the point where I'm horribly unlucky to get hurt so often as a mage but so unbelievably lucky that I'm still alive.

I've been having lots of ideas for new characters to play in WoD, but we've actually been sticking to a single game for a long time now, and even more amazing we're in the same story's "universe" as the last game we played. It's fun playing with a group of people that don't blow up the world 2 games into a chronicle...

DMs just need to learn that giving your group the materials to destroy the world every fifteen minutes is fucking stupid.
