So, I'm rolling up a 3.5 wizard, and, as I've never done it before, I'm not too sure what is best. Anyone have any tips?

I'm trying to run a Axis & Allie game, but the only thing turning all my friends away is the long turn and battle each player conducts before passing the turn. *sigh* I might plan to make it a little bit like risk, One Province per turn.

Evocation Specialist. Focus on spells like Fireball, Cone of Cold, etc. Played some more SW RPG last night...my poor wookie seems to draw fire...litterally. He's was set on fire twice. It's also become a running joke that I press the "I mean you know harm" button on my vox-box (little box that has 12 pre-programed phrases in it, used by species that can't speak basic to communicate with people that can't speak their language), WHILE I'm shooting at people. Can have some rather humorous results.

I loved 3.5 because my Human Rogues OWNED with all the bonus feats. Not familiar with squishy wizards, that was never my thing.

My wizard focused on area effect spells and splash damage. Worked well.

I'm going to be playing in a 3.5 game at some point in the near future, and I'm going to be playing a custom class my DM and I thought up called a Soulbound Mage. Basically, I'm a completely normal wizard, but once I reach a certain threshold or suffer some kind of intense emotional shock, I basically berserk and can cast pretty much any conjuration or evocation spells with metamagic feats applied in exchange for temporary con damage. Like "Five minute rest" temporary. This character is going to be fucking epic.

Hehehe...I would counter that with a custom character class I thought up, called a Magic Hunter. Basicly, they're a sort of ranger/paladin hybrid that focuses on anti-spell casters. They get auras that do things like reflect or absorb spells, eventually even auras that completely neutralize magic. And they get bonuses to attack and damage vs spellcasters.

So, just a general question.
Do you prefer D6 or D20 based games?

Damn, we're limited to those options? Guh...
Both can be a lot of fun, but if I'm forced to choose I lean more toward D6, even though I've played less GURPS than D&D.
My favorite though is probably D10.

D10 is a blast, and so is D20. I haven't played much D6, but what I have, I don't really like so much.
