Toy Story 3, it's been a while since I cried that much for a movie.

My wife and I sat down and watched The Adventures of TinTin last night. It is one of the best movies I have seen in ages.

Taken; Liam Nelson's daughter gets kidnapped and he goes to get her back.
That's the plot, but badassery ensues as Papa Wolf Nelson kicks ass and beats the shit out of people with simple, effective moves to the head and neck while shooting others.

Pretty good movie overall; action and thrills, fights and asskicking with little plot.

John Carter of Mars.  I liked it.  I had read the books years ago (like when I was in junior high) and while I know it departed from the book I can't put my finger on where exactly.  Still it was fun.  It's one of the few movies I've watched recently that I really thought was worth seeing on the big screen.

Which reminds me, the Enterprise (the carrier featured in the movie) is on its final patrol.  When it gets back to port it's long career will be over.  A living piece of history is passing away.

I actually heard someone talking about that when I was at the Air and Space museum in DC. I was under the impression that she'd already been decommissioned.
Maybe they'll turn the Big E into a museum ship. That would be cool. Or maybe they'll do something stupid like scuttle it.

Machete, where it's easier to name the characters who aren't badass. It's tasteless, violent, bloody, awesome, excessively bloody and downright hilarious at times.

Highly recommended.
