Going to see Avengers tonight.  With a 7 year old!  I predict a significant amount of Hulk Smashing to be going on this weekend.  And probably as least one Hawkeye bow made.  Now I just have to figure out to how to get my wife a red wig and Black Widow costume Smiley

My friend and I got there late, so we had to sit wayyyyy in the front row, with our heads tilted back. And to make it worse it was 3D, so seeing it up close was hard on the eyes at parts. D:

But goddamn... Dat ScarJo. :3

Same scenario for me and my wife, hurts the eye during those fast sequence scenes.

Just finished watching the Avengers. It was really good, but I think I'm done with 3D movies. They've done a really good job making it unobtrusive and cool, but they haven't figured out a way to make it not make EVERYTHING look blurry and shitty.

I was going to rewatch Avengers this week in 3D since I saw it regular the first time but I keep hearing about it being blurry for parts so I think I'll just skip the 3D again.

And FireFog, sorry for your loss, watching the trailer was horrible enough for me.  My Aunt was a HUGE fan of the original soap opera and the trailer looked nothing like it.

That bad, huh? I had invited a cousin to go see it with me sometime... :/ (I doubt she'll want to, even though she usually loves Tim Burton movies)

The Raid: Redemption. Easily one of the best action movies I have seen in a long time. It's done by the same people who did Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, and Kung Fu Hustle.

Anyone see Prometheus yet?  If so let me know if it's worth it.

Why not go see it for yourself instead of letting others decide for you? Not everybody has the same opinion on stuff, where one person might dislike something, you may like it, just saying. Based on what I've heard from all my friends who have seen it (I have yet to see it, unfortunately), it is very worth seeing, they say its not quite as good as Alien/s (You can never beat the originals), but it's still very good and miles ahead of everything else in that universe.

I've only heard the opposite. Lots of  "poorly written characters are poorly written", "Bad script is bad", and other things I can't think of right now. I was really interested when I thought it was a sci-Fi thriller, then I heard it was an aliens prequel with no xenomorphs and said "oh, fuck that shit."

The movie explains the origin and purpose of the xenomorphs, something that was never once acknowledged through the trilogy, I'd say it'd be pretty interesting to hear that.

I will see it at some point because I want to.  The question is, do I blow money to see it in first run theaters, spend less money when it hits the later run theaters, or hold out for video rental.  This movie has a lot of hype and "OMG NEW ALIEN MOVIE!!!11!" so I was looking for a real persons opinion.

Also, the Xenomorphs never really needed a purpose or a full origin. They were animals (surviving is their purpose) that are from an alien planet. Asking for the purpose of a xenomorph was like asking for the purpose of a dog. It's a dog. That's it's life goal. Be a dog.

NAH UH!... A Dog goal in life is to help me be the best, so I gotta catch them all!... Joke aside.
I'll still take a crack at it, heard its better then most movies that are out at the moment.
