Yeah, I'm in the same boat as you on those franchises. I only went cause my cousin was only here for a week from England and she wanted to see it.

So now I am going to watch Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
Now THERE is a classic! The ventriloquist doll gag was brilliant!

This movie hits home for me because this is a movie my dad and I would watch all the time. XD Yeah, I'm in the same boat as you on those franchises. I only went cause my cousin was only here for a week from England and she wanted to see it.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space is a classic, it has the perfect amount of hokey-over-the-topness that it's bad in an amazing way.

Pan's Labyrinth; Pale Man was creepy, the Faun was creepy, Colonel Sadist was a sadistic bastard and it got so depressing that I teared up.
And amazing score to go with the gorgeous scenery.

If you like Pans Labyrinth check out DelTormos film The Orphanage. It's a very different film but deals with a lot of the same themes (e.g. escaping from a stressful reality into fantasy.) Both films left me with that feeling of "what did I just watch and what did it mean". But in a good way.

Ooh, I watched Fright Night over the weekend, and it was surprisingly really good, imo. The plot was quite a bit different than what I thought it was gonna be; I assumed it was just gonna be another "I think your neighbor's a vampire, let's spend an hour and a half trying to prove it, and the last 10 minutes dealing with it", but no they spend the majority of the movie dealing with it. Also, David Tenent was hilarious in it.

Fright Night was cheesy good fun. I keep hearing rumors it's being remade and the thought both amuses and concerns me.

I was actually refering to the remake. I thought I had seen the original, but I'm not sure that I have after watching the remake, unless the remake is quite drastically different.

It also has a "Peter Pan" vibe if you think about it too much, which is what I thought when I watched The Orphanage the first time. But, that's what I like about his films. He leaves it ambiguous enough to make you believe whatever you want to believe. : D I watched The Great Mouse Detective last night. I thought I watched somffin else .... dun member .... Also ... i c wut u r doing thr outlaw

^ Been ages since I last saw Peter Pan, but I do remember bits of Hook. The Great Mouse Detective is still one of my favorites in non-anime film. And bless the creators for not ruining it with a sequel. If you like Pans Labyrinth check out DelTormos film The Orphanage. It's a very different film but deals with a lot of the same themes (e.g. escaping from a stressful reality into fantasy.) Both films left me with that feeling of "what did I just watch and what did it mean". But in a good way. The library has multiple copies so it's going straight to on-hold. You have my thanks and I owe you another one once I finish watching it.
