Batman (1966) with TV's Adam West and Shark-Repellant Bat Spray for your exploding shark. Mix it with all the other crazy cheeseball, comedic, campy hijinks and you have an excellent ham filled movie. Mr. P.N. Guin and the Bat Deduction part, best Batman flick I've watched. Heck, best superhero flick I've seen.

Watched Contagion over the weekend; gotta say, I know it's early into the 21st century, but I think it's going to be in the running for worst movie of the century. If you enjoy movies that have too many protagonists for it to follow any of them long enough to show any real depth to their characters, then this is a good movie for you. Also if you enjoy seeing problems set up and then having the movie skip to after every problem is already resolved, never actually showing anything ever getting resolved, then you'd like this movie.

I've been rewatching the Star Wars trilogy. On my VHS, the old school unf#|<ed with version. I know they came out on DVD briefly boxed in with "STAR WARS: The sh!tty stup!d edition" but I passed them up. Now I'm sort of regretting it. I've been so spoiled by hi-def.

I just watched National Treasure and am now watching the Indiana Jones movies (starting with Temple of Doom to keep it chronological and most likely skipping Crystal Skull) . All the Uncharted playing I've been doing has put me in the mood for epic adventure movies. I'll probalby finish with the Goonies. When is the Goonies going to get a sequel damnit?

TLO, it has gone past the timeframe in which a good sequel would be produced.

Blasphemy! Though I could be satisfied with a good Ghostbusters 3. Though at the rate things are going I'll just be making due with Bill and Ted 3. Meh... I'll take it...

The orginal idea for GB3 was pretty badass. But then it got really dumb and everyone walked out on the project...

I've been rewatching the Star Wars trilogy. On my VHS-
That's as far as I got and all I needed to read. Wish they had Episode III on VHS to complete the collection. Gonna have to replace VI though, my copy of Return of the Jedi has bad sound and the TV hooked up to the VCR doesn't help much.

The Thing (2011 prequel). For the most part I liked it. As advertised it did not contradict the original (that I could see) and it explained every setup and set piece of the Norwegian camp Kurt Russel and company explored. A couple of the pieces I had thought would have had a bigger focus didn't (like the story behind the body at the radio with his throat and wrists cut) but the rush at seeing the sequence of the helicopter chasing the dog towards the American camp as the credits played was awesome. It had a few Hollywood dumb moments and the CGI looked ok and you can tell that effort was made to stay close to monster designs from the original. If you liked the original go see it.
I did not use spoiler tags because everything I talked about was in the original, spoiling a nearly 30 year old movie would be hard.

I saw the original which is probably why I didn't like the kurt russel remake very much. Yes the original was campy but it didn't need to drown the set pieces in blood to make it scary, I'm sorry but gore doesn't make a movie scary to me. I am still very excited to see this movie...I just hhope they focus more on making a genuinely scary film and not just a gorey one.
