I didn't know there were extended versions of the LOTR movies.

Anyway, Big Fish was pretty good, though the end was fairly predictable.

The Princess and the Frog, it was very cute. Disney did not disappoint.

I didn't know there were extended versions of the LOTR movies.

They were released on DVD about a year after the films themselves. The extended versions are much better, the story actually makes sense for a start because they haven't cut out a load of scenes that explain some key plot points. OK most people had read the books so knew it anyway, but if you were completely new to lotR, you need to watch the full version. I'm guessing Jackson was made to edit the films down for cinema by the studio as each of the extended (director's cut) versions are over 4 hours long.

EDIT:

Far Cry. Seriously, I don't why people automatically condemn Uwe Boll's movies. Sure, he's made some TERRIBLE ones, and I wouldn't be sad if he never made another movie (and he's an asshole), but Far Cry was good, even if it did have little in common with the game.

Uwe Boll's movies are terrible, but yet good at the same time. The problem is that critics don't seem to understand genre movies. Not everyone wants to watch Citizen Kane all the time. Sometimes it's fun to grab a few beers and watch things being blown away by wooden actors playing characters so dumb they could be the first reel casualty in a Friday 13th movie.

I found the acting and characters in both Far Cry and In The Name of theKing to be quite acceptible. It seems to me that a large part of people's problems with his movies is the fact that he's proven himself to be a complete douchebag, and his movies have little to do with the games they're 'based' on. However, the former problem doesn't have any real meaning as to how good a movie is, and the later, well, lets face it, most movies that are 'based' on books have little in common with the books they're supposedly based on, and people accept this. I don't see why people don't do the same with video game based movies.

Watch The Core. Good movie, if you can ignore the places where they blatantly broke science.

Let's see, it's raining. I'm alone and there's hint that I might lose power. Let's watch Kiyoshi Kurosawa's PULSE and SEANCE.

Good choices. Follow it up sometime after midnight with the Japanese version of Ring. That is I think the only film that ever freaked Opusfluke out.

Afro Samurai: Resurrection
All kinds of bad-ass. Retains the style, music and awe-inspiring violence.
The opening bridge battle was a highlight; a beautiful tapestry of blood.

Just finished watching Edward Scissorhands. I hadn't seen it before, I can't say that I like it all to much...it was rather depressing.
